REPORT: YOU'VE NEVER BEEN TO NAMIBIA

Your House – You were just getting ready to fold some laundry when Namibia popped into your head for some reason. You're pretty sure Namibia is in Africa, but you're not sure where (it's in the southwestern portion of the continent). You think about how you’d love to check out a place like Namibia someday, but you've never even left the state that you were born in. The farthest that you've ever traveled is that time you went to the Pumpkin Spree with your buddy Dan over in Skrenksville. Other than that, you once had to drive three hours to a Walgreens out in Tappers Pointe to pick up a prescription, and you wonder if there is even a Walgreens in Namibia (there is not).

As your hand graces your head, you wonder if there is a Fantastic Sams there if you needed to get a haircut. (Unfortunately, Fantastic Sams does not have a presence in Namibia. Finding a familiar hair salon might be a bit challenging if you ever make the journey).

You hope that if you go, you can get by with just English. (Well, you are in luck in that department. English is one of the official languages of Namibia, along with several Indigenous languages. Many Namibians are fluent in English, especially in urban areas and for conducting business, so communication would not be a significant hurdle).

All this wondering has made you hungry, you wonder; what kinds of food do they eat in Namibia? (One of the national dishes of Namibia is "kapana," which is grilled meat, often beef, with a variety of spices and sauces. It is a flavorful and spicy treat that many locals enjoy).

But let's face it, Namibia might as well be on the moon because you're sure never going there. While you may be curious about far-off lands and their unique cultures and cuisines, for now, you'll stick to what you know. Namibia will remain a place you've never been.
